Here is a look at some of the cases we were working on in 2023:
- We handle a large number of Strike 3 Holdings, LLC copyright infringement defense cases, settling well over a million dollars in cases.
- Settled a good number of Flavaworks file-sharing cases
- Solidworks software infringement cases also arose this year with Dassault Systems
- We also handled a good number of Vero software recovery actions over alleged infringements of Alphacam, Surfcam, and Cabinetvision
- We settled many software audits with Autodesk overuse of invalid software, and their new flavor of the season "over-assigning" licenses.
- We handled multiple Dish-Nagrastar-Sling illegal IPTV service cases.
- The Business Software Alliance ("BSA") also came back to life this year with software compliance disputes
- Handle Altium software dispute
- Issued and responded to various cease-and-desist letters involving copyright and trademark infringement and DMCA actions
- DMCA registered agent activity
- Resolved CNC software dispute
- Appeared in federal case dealing with Ansys suing multiple John Does for software piracy
- Spearheaded the defense of Siemens software defendants accused of making illegal copies of software
- Handled a large number of photo infringement cases for both Plaintiff and Defendant clients
- Analyzed and provided Fair Use Option letters for independent filmmakers and videographers
- Handled numerous G&G Closed Circuit TV illegal fight broadcasting cases
- Advised on a California right of publicity case
- Prevailed with a complete defense to a trade secret dispute brought by a northern California trucking carrier
- Represented multiple bars, restaurants and other establishments in Joe Hand boxing piracy (TV signal piracy) cases
- Reviewed and advised on several crypto currency matters
- Handled ASCAP and BMI music disputes for restaurant owners
- Appointed by the Arizona superior court to arbitrate a personal injury dispute
- Handled several Apple Infringement counterfeit product cases (ear pods, lightning cables, etc.)
- Represented many defendants in copyright infringement federal court matters.
- Assisted clients in obtaining and renewing federally registered trademarks
- Handled various mobile application disputes with the Apple and Google Play stores
- Involved in massive YouTube video footage dispute
- Defeated Redpoints in a bogus DMCA copyright strike with YouTube.
- Handled contract review for a wide variety of entertainment clients (model and social media influencer agreements, reality TV show agreement, music synch and mechanical licenses, etc.)
- Assisted in software whistle blower case
