business software alliance letter

We are a leader in handling software audits with the Business Software Alliance ("BSA").  If you received a letter, call us for more information and a free confidential consultation.  We handle cases from across the United States, from small companies to large across a range of industries!

Introduction

The Washingon D.C. based "Business Software Alliance" has announced a new project designed to facilitate the cross-border transfer of information (ex. personal information of consumers of various companies).   The various international companies that are said to be involved appear to include:

Adobe, ANSYS, Apple, Autodesk, Bentley Systems, CA Technologies, CNC/Mastercam, DataStax, Dell, IBM, Intuit, Microsoft, Minitab, Oracle, salesforce.com, SAS, Siemens PLM, Splunk, Symantec, The MathWorks, Trend Micro, Trimble and Workday, American Express, Amgen, AT&T, Cisco, Mastercard, Panasonic, United Airlines, Verizon, Visa, and WD-40.

The idea seems to (me) to be to find ways to transfer customer data (and possibly other data) across international borders safely and securely, while making sure to comply with Data Privacy and Security laws that exist in the European Union, in the United States and in other countries across the globe.

We will keep you posted on any new updates we hear about.
